Dr. Gary Burkholder joins HLRC as Editor-in-Chief and SCOPUS Indexation

The HLRC editorial team would like to inform our community of readers, authors, and peer reviewers of two important announcements.

First, the HLRC welcomes Dr. Gary J. Burkholder as the new Editor-in-Chief effective February 8, 2019. He currently serves as Senior Research Scholar and Senior Contributing Faculty at Walden University, USA. He previously served as HLRC Editor-in-Chief from 2015 to 2018. During that period, the HLRC became indexed in ERIC, Directory of Open Access Journals, and J-Gate, and the editorial team began the journal’s now continuous presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These combined endeavors have significantly broadened the journal’s dissemination and potential audiences. Dr. Burkholder also incorporated educational outreach as a guiding principal for the journal. As such, HLRC’s editorial team has invested significant resources in training scholars and practitioners in the peer-reviewed publication process, as well as in campaigns designed to train and provide hands on experience to advanced doctoral students as they serve as peer reviewers. We thank Dr. Oscar Hipólito for his service as Editor-in-Chief during the past year.

Second, after a lengthy and thorough review process, HLRC was recently informed that the Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) accepted the HLRC for inclusion in Scopus. The reviewers noted that the journal consistently includes articles that are scientifically sound and relevant to an international academic or professional audience in this field and that the journal addresses a subject area not properly covered by an existing journal.  We are very pleased regarding this recognition by Scopus.
